MONETARY AWARDS (PER DIVISION)

First Place: $2,500
Second Place: $1,500
Third Place: $1,000

Note: These monetary awards are intended to support expenses related to NABQT; funds will not be awarded to any team that chooses not to participate in NABQT.

END OF YEAR AWARDS

Note: For the purpose of these awards, a “Rookie” is defined as anyone who has never quizzed or coached in Senior Bible Quizzing in any tournament following that year’s Bible Quizzing Extravaganza.

Scenario 1: Quizzer was a Junior Quizzer, but has never quizzed in Seniors before this year; this quizzer is a rookie.

Scenario 2: Quizzer was a Senior Quizzer last year, but did not compete in the April, May, or District Finals tournaments; this quizzer is a rookie.

Scenario 3: Quizzer was a Senior Quizzer 3 years ago and competed in the April and May tournaments, but has not quizzed since; this quizzer is a veteran.

AWARDS INCLUDE:

  • Participation Trophy (all quizzers who compete at District Finals)

  • Memorization Medals (awarded to each quizzer who completes his/her material)

QUIZMASTER AWARD

Additionally, Head Coaches will be asked to submit the name of one quizzer from his/her team to be considered for the Quizmaster’s Award. If a church has multiple teams, the Head Coach of each team may nominate one quizzer. This quizzer should be chosen based upon display Christian character, demonstration of Quizzing “spirit” (enthusiastic, celebrates other quizzers, etc.), the Quizzer’s efforts to connect with/befriend quizzers outside of his/her team, and the Quizzer’s active participation in your church’s local youth program. In your submission, please include a brief 1-3 paragraph writeup explaining why you feel your quizzer meets the stated criteria. These submissions are due by May 31st.

FLORIDA SBQ HALL OF FAME

To ensure that exceptional Senior Bible Quizzers are permanently recognized, we have instituted a FL Senior Bible Quizzing Hall of Fame. This year during our End of Season Celebration Dinner, we will be inducting our 2026 class. Inductees will receive a special plaque recognizing their achievement. They will also be listed with their accomplishments on the Florida Bible Quizzing site.

To be inducted in the FL Senior Bible Quizzing Hall of Fame, quizzers must earn six total points during thier quizzing career. Points are awarded based upon the following criteria:

  • 1 point for each year competing in District Finals

  • 1 point for each year earning Quizzer of the Year, Rookie of the Year, or Quizmaster Award

  • 1 point for earning District Finals Scoring Champion

  • 0.5 point for NABQT qualification

  • 0.5 point for Quizzer of the Year Runner Up or Rookie of the Year Runner Up

  • 0.5 point for 2nd Highest Scoring Individual at District Finals

Nominations must be submitted by the quizzer’s Head Coach by Sunday, May 24th, at 11:59 PM (EST) to ensure plaques are ordered in a timely fashion.

FL SBQ Hall of Fame Nomination - Frequently Asked Questions

How are the points verified?
District Finals and NABQT participation will be verified on UPCQuiz.com. Awards will be verified by confirming with the records of the District SBQ Director at the time the award was issued, if possible. If accurate records were not kept, the points will be awarded on the "honor" system.

Does time and awards earned in Junior Bible Quizzing count?
It does not; Hall of Fame considers time and awards in Senior Quizzing only.

What if one or more of the quizzer’s seasons took place in another district?
If the quizzer has moved here from another district, District-level time and awards from previous districts will count toward his/her points.

What about 2020?

Since the SBQ Season was canceled during 2020, statistics from that year will not count toward Hall of Fame.

What about awards received at NABQT?
Though winning awards and trophying at NABQT are high honors, this is a District level award, so only district results will be considered.

What if my quizzer earns his/her final point(s) at District Finals?
If your quizzer earns his/her final point(s) at District Finals (for example, your quizzer has 5 points and earns Quizzer of the Year to reach 6 points), your quizzer's Hall of Fame plaque will be ordered and mailed to his/her address after District Finals. The Quizzer's induction into the Hall of Fame will be acknowledged during the final tournament awards ceremony.

My quizzer is at 5.5 points; do you round up?
Reach out to our FL SBQ Director to discuss your quizzer's situation in more detail (FloridaSBQ@gmail.com).

GIVING BACK AT District FINALS

Once again this year, we are collecting used Bible Quizzing material to be donated to Trinidad/Tobago to aid in the growth of the Bible Quizzing ministry on a global scale. We are asking all of our quizzers and coaches who are willing to bring quiz cards, verse sheets, charting sets, manuals, concordances, practice questions, or any other material from this year with which you and your quizzers are wiling to part to District Finals, and, if you do not qualify for NABQT, donating those items to the ministry in Trinidad/Tobago. If you would prefer to donate cash rather than (or in addition to) quiz material, you will have the option to do that as well.
